Ridiculously Stupid Question!! (My Computer Link)

Why The Fluff Can't I Do This??

OK, I am not being in the Gettingness of it.

I wanted to make a desktop link to "My Computer" using Desktop X Pro. I have 3.1 and can't seem to download 3.19...

But that's another story.

I noticed that My Computer is not on the list from the drop down menu.

I browse to it, but it won't take!

I end up with a blank properties window, and a widget that opens the Stardock folder!

I know this can be done, because Desktop X Pro comes with one as an Object!

I opened it, and it works.

I looked at the properties and it says it links to My Documents, but it really links to My Computer!!!!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!

What The Fluff???

MOO!

Grunt.

Woof.

Belch.

Excuse Me.

Roar.

Chirp.

Fart.

Pardon.

Oink.

Cluck-Cluck-Cluck.

The worst part is that I tried simply replacing the image in the given objects folder and exporting (As An Experiment!) and it worked!!

This is for professional purposes and I refuse to Steal other people's work!! Now I have a working link, but I did not make it myself and can't duplicate it's functionality!!

This should be Easy, but DX Pro keeps saying...

Neigh.

  1. Make a shortcut object
  2. Link it to exporer.exe
  3. In the Arguments, paste this: /root,,::{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}

Wow!

Thanks Muchly!

That looks Easy!!

I wonder why it did not show in the properties on the given object?

Pervious Build of Desktop X Maybe?

Regardless, thanks! That defied logic to my tired old brain...

Here's my "Relief" smiley I made:

There's a bug with the list of predefined shortcuts in DesktopX. You'll notice that there's two entries for My Documents. I've reported teh bug ages ago, but it's yet to be fixed.
