How do you install a new dock using obkectdock?

usually you put the file in its own folder in the objectdock/backgrounds folder.  It then becomes available to the tab properties style option.

i use all the things i can that are free, i dont pay for subrsciptions and whatnot, so if thats the problem i dunt know , im only 12

If you can move around in the drives and folders, and know how to extract ("unzip") files, this mini tutorial may help you understand where to place all the files so you can use them http://corkyo.wincustomize.com/Articles.aspx?SID=5463&AID=82930

to find the folder you first need to go to "my computer" then clik open,(you may need to unhide,look at left for "unhide contents" WARNING DO NOT DELETE ANYTHING OR ADJUST THE WINDOWS FOLDER

there should be a folder called "program files" open it and scroll thru till you find either "stardock" and open it and look for the OD folder or look for the objectdock folder if there is no stardock folder,once open you should recognise some of the folders =Images,docklets,url,themes

you can put your own folder inside the objectdock folder with diff pikkies of drives etc if you so wish and it will automatically appear in the od selection window as for themes put em in the theme folder and backgrounds in the background folder.

ok thanks that's vry helpfull, what i want is for all my desktop icons to be hidden and a pop out dock from the side to replace them . im guessing to do that i use object dock and in there go to "general" tab and the "my docks" part. If so, i cant click on anything in "my docks" its like un highlighted or something and i cant click on anything there?.

It's not highlighted because you haven't followed what's written underneath....upgrade to OD+ (paid version)

I use the free dock - you only get 1 dock.
I just hide all my desktop icons and have shorcut on the dock to open the desktop folder.

there's probably and easier way, but - right click on dock and add new short cut, right click on shortcut and go to dock entry properties, select all files (default is .exes) find a .doc or .bmp or .png. Then your link path will look like:

C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Desktop\uhoh.png

then in dock entry properties, in the link path delete "\uhoh.png"


right click the desktop, arrange icons by, uncheck show desktop icons

Rightclick your desktop...under "Arrange Icons By" uncheck "Show Desktop Icons." The only thing you should see then is your recycle bin, and you can make that disappear by installing TweakUi. You can also drag your icons to your new dock and then delete them from your desktop.

how do you get to that 1st image lol

right click on dock, add new shortcut and a question mark appears.
right click on the question mark and choose "dock entry properties"
click "browse" and you're at the 1st image

ok i got it how i want it now.... is there a way of saving it, cuse i think last time i restarted, it went back to the default dock, although it is the default dock i still deleted some entries on the dock and they were back up when i restarted.
