Where can I find the "intensive algorithms on" option

I've heard players talk about this setting but I've not see it.

Where can I find this option?

Thanks.

Have you upgraded to v1.2?

It's located in the Game Options...

It is on the same screen that you set the other main game options like planet and star density. You must be using version 1.2; previous versions do not have the option.

Ah I must be blind, found it.

Now for my next question, what exactly does it do?

Thanks.

Based on previous posts by Brad/Draginol/Frogboy, I think it currently is just a place holder. I'm hoping the new algorithms will be implemented in v1.3.

I'm pretty sure it's been functioning (somewhat) since 1.2.

As I understood, it was coded in 1.1 but not utilized until 1.2.

The intensive algorithms allow the AI to use more cpu time to calculate optimal moves. The computer will play smarter but the game will run more slowly on alot of machines as it will be using more system resources.

I'm not completely sure if its been implemented yet but I think its now hooked up.

In 2030 Pcs became self aware of its existence and wrecked havoc on the world. A terminator is sent back in time to stop its rise to power and to protect Sara Conner...

I think one of the effects is that it upgrades ship designs more often.

I have a powerful machine and I started noticing some delay time between turns in one of the later 1.2 betas.

I have noticed that with it on, the AI seems to optimize its new ship designs, much more often, and is much more aggressive at creating useful fleets.

During some long turns during the late game on large maps, I think the AI is also doing calculations when I am not providing input.

It also seems much more aware of my fleets massing at their border.

I've been playing suicidal on large maps with the AI intense CPU option on, and I swear the AI plays better with every patch.

The AI planet management also has been greatly improved.
