System Tray Object Problem

Ok, this is going to sound really stupid, but I don't have the sdmcp exe, and I'm pretty sure this is why my system trays aren't working.

I only have desktopx, not sd central. However, a friend of mine has the same programs and yet he can create system tray objects.
Does anyone know what the problem is?

ok it seems to be working now, but ive not got all the icons showing up, so i'll read some other posts about systrays lacking icons
