The planet's PQ drops, the trade good is lost and can never be built again.

Man that sucks. What if you give it to another civ and destroy the planet?

Or..... if it gets blown up in an invasion?

if you give it to another civ, you get to keep the benefits. i think the same is true on an invasion.

If it's taken in invasion combat the other person now owns the right to the trade good. I once had Harmony Crystals, Ultra Spices, and Frictionless Clothing on one colony. My Approval was 75% at 80% tax rate. The yor took the planet and next turn my approval was 35%. I suffered a revolution and a third of my planets seceded. Not cool, man. I'm not sure about what happens when someone else gives it to you and then loses it though...

What if you, or the AI, could blackmail and threaten to remove the trade good if you don't do something they want?

Ex: Humans have Ultra Spices, they blackmail you and say, "we want you to attack the Drengins, or else we will remove this trade good from you!". Either you give in or you say scr** you, take you threats elsewhere, or you counter-offer them.

The trouble with that idea is that you'd have to set up a certain amount of time before you could threaten people like that, else you could give trade goods to someone in exchange for something, and then the turn after threaten to take them away.
You could just keep doing that, which might disbalance the game.
