pixelation around my icons

I recently purchased two MAG 19" widescreen flatpanels. Im using a Nvidia 6800 GS. The problem I am having is i am getting some distortion or pixelation around my desktop icons, plus it appears that they dont have any alpha blending as well. I have updated my GFX driver and MAg has told me that they don't make a driver for this Flatpanel(its a plug and play). I have tried evrything i can think of and could really use some help. I have attached two images to show you what i mean, notice around the edges of the images the pixelation and also the icon text has a background, why is that, I thought they were suppose to have an alpha blending, the only other thing i can think of is it has something to do with WB

I've had that problem in the past ....I can't use icon x at all. Usually i just hit the " rebuild icons " on the IP and its gone after.

Fairyy~~ is referring to using Icon Packager (IP)= Link. It has a 'rebuild icons' option in setting.

There may be a way to rebuid usng Windows, but I wouldn't know it.

There is a way to turn off the background around your icon text, unfortunately I don't remember the steps and I'm at work on a pretty much locked down system.

There have been one or three posts regarding icons and pixelation but the majority of forum posts are found at the Wincustomize site which my employer has blocked.

I suggest doing a search for 'icon' & 'icons' to start, and focus on the 'more' tabs under general and stardock support. I believe you will find the answer to both your issues.

hmmm... first try this - go to 'my computer' then on the left click 'view system information', 'advanced' tab, the 'settings' under 'performance', 'visual effects' tab, scroll the list see if the options for "smooth edges of screen fonts" and "use drop shadows for icon labels on desktop" are checked...that may take care of the background showing around text.

well searched all posts on icons and it seems that there has been a few people with this problem and there has been no help. I am going to contact Stardock and let them know whats going on and if that doesnt do it, then im cutting my losses and getting rid of this buggy program

I couldnt find this post to get back here for some reason.
This maybe a long shot. But I recently had this happen so I know it can happen - just not sure how it did...
If you go to your display ( desktop tab ) there is a place to click on to customize desktop. ( click on Web tab ) check if anything is in the window that will bring a web pic or a pic from your own computer to your desktop. The reason im saying this is I found one that was hidden and did not show up in this box....until I added one from my computer - then the hidden one showed as a huge blank white page. It was covering 90% of my desktop. Any of these web pages or graphics from your computer - if brought to desktop - to delete them you mouse over the top of them until you see the an indented square- there you will find a drop down list to duplicate , delete , etc.
Sometimes I use this option to put a pic on desktop temporaily. The reason im bringing this up is after you put a pic on desktop through display ...you right click on desktop and check off " Lock desktop items " When I lock desktop items it causes a shadow box to appear under icons that I removed the text from long ago and causes all icons to get raggy around edges. Once I delete the pics and uncheck the " lock desktop items " i reboot and all icons are back to normal.
Like I said - this is a long shot. But a simple test would be to just right click on your desktop and see if you have the " lock desktop items " checked - then uncheck it.

Just for a final note...

The previous suggestion to uncheck the "Lock Desktop Items" works beautifully! I was getting really tired of the ugly icons.
