Our first ultrasound

5 weeks 4 days and 4 babies

As we were sitting in the doctors office on Monday, we were laughing and joking about how we had a very high likelihood that we would be finding out we had lots of babies on the way. Finally it is our turn and we go back. My wife has to assume the position and the doc enters the room. We were both excited when we saw something on the screen. (Seeing really is believing)

My wife said, "I see two." The doctor said "I see four!"

We are still very early in the pregnancy but right now we are looking at quadruplets! How cool is that?

No, but your wife loves you, and she has to bear them.  So give her what she wants!

Seriously, I had 4 - over 9 years, and that was rough enough.  in about 8 months, we are going to start a "keep John sane" fund and get you some help!

"keep John sane"

I was built for this. I don't want to make light of how difficult it will be but right now I have no worries that we can do this. We have been married for almost 10 years now and have been waiting on this time of our lives for that long. Whatever happens will be what is supposed to happen and I accept that. If it is harder than I think it will be, and I do think it will be difficult, it will only be cause to deepen my resolve to be a great father.

You will do well.  It is good to see your resolve. But then we can always be the support group with whatever we can muster.  You know, little things, like a full nights sleep.  Or a gross of pampers.  Industrial diaper rash creme.......The little stuff!

Congrats again.  I look forward to the stories of you new family.

I keep telling my wife that my second job is going to be yelling at womens crotches. I yelled at hers everyday. "STAY IN THERE!"

I second Tex's sentiment.  Keep on yelling, JJ.

Maybe I'll just set up an infomercial on how to stay pregnant... You too can learn for just four easy payments of $19.95.

Thanks!

That's an awesome attitude. And yes, it will be harder than you think Seriously, I'm sure you will be delerious at times but sounds like you will be happy with the delerium.

My wife was having some diabetic issues yesterday so she went to the doctor today. While they were there they did another ultrasound and they think that 1 maybe 2 may be questionable at this point. We knew this was a possibility. The best news is that there are 2 that look really good and one other one that is progressing well but not as well as the first two. The other hasn't made very much progress in the last couple of days.

I still have faith that God will lead us down the road he chooses for us.

That is one negative thing I guess about ultra sounds....we get to see the babies so early, and sometimes maybe it would be better not knowing how many you started with.

I'm sorry to hear about it but at the same time it may be a blessing in disguise. There is only so much room in your wife's uterus and the fewer babies, the more likely she will be to carry to term.

My second son was only a month premature and I can't tell you all the problems associated with having a baby even four weeks early. They need every single minute they can get in utero.

I'll keep you, your wife and the babies in our prayers Jon.

It's frustrating to know, especially after wanting this so bad for so long, that there might be a reduction in the number. I just want them all.

I can't wait to be a father even if it's just of one.

You're gonna be a great dad Jon. Your wife is lucky and so are your kids!

I can't believe I missed this. See what happens when you take a break from JU for a day or two. You miss the big news. So congratulations!!! I'm so excited for you.

I love babies. Especially newborn babies. I wish they could stay that little and sweet longer than they do. My baby days are over that's why I have to borrow other people's babies to take care of all day.

Can we start making name suggestions? I love telling other people what to name their babies but they never listen to me. I still like making the suggestions anyway. I'm waiting for the day when someone says that's the perfect name for our baby.
