Tech limit????

Is anyone aware of a limit on the number of Techs that you can add to the game?

I just created about 30 new ones and they don't seem to want to appear.

I don't think there's a limit. Are you sure they're linked to other techs correctly, or that one of them has a "None" for TechRequirement (you know the field) so it can start your techs off.
I've added at least 121 techs, and it works fine.

do you have a tool that helps you editing / adding techs to those xml file ?

I use Microsoft Word, because it's so much nicer to look at, and it makes copying or finding individual techs or components much easier. Right clicking on field names like 'logistics' lets you access the internal name of a tech for instance.

What is ObjectEdit, and is it free?

I use XML Marker. It is freeware and gives not only folding for nodes but also a spreadsheet view.

It took me a while to find the error I had two Weapons at the end of one of the techs vs one. Typical it was staring me in the face buy took looking over the whole list about five times. Appears to be working fine now.

BIG THX for the info !

btw. how do you circumvent that weird xml id insert in the tech file
like "< weapons id = "xxx" > " but it closes with "< / weapons >"
(had to insert spaces else it wouldnt display on this forum)
not true to the specifications (and made my last method using ms-access a pain)
