Starbase and fleet managment

I must say I really adore this game... The politics and dimplomacy are slightly too simple for my liking, but generally the game is very close to my *ideal*.

But... Starbase and fleet managment I have found to be a real pain. In fact I think that is sort of a left over from GalCiv One. While fleets I can bear (stack, make fleet, select target) the starbases are a nuisance. I know the code probably wouldn't like to be meddled like this, and such a change is quite impossible at this level, still, wouldn';t it be hell of a lot simpler to select a starbase, mark what modules you want on it, and then select worlds responsible for the construction of constructors/ how focused they should be on building them (ex, onme constructor per two "regular" military builds)

A note about constructors here: Why can each constructor create only one module. It would be much nicer, if we could place like 3 construction modules on a ship and be able to construct 3 modules with just one ship. It takes longer to build, I know - but it would be exceptionaly useful during wars when you want to create starbases and arm them immediately. I know it is not that much problem to create a few constructor-fleet, but still...

Yeah, I agree to add more than one module on a contruct ship each time. Save a lot time to move the newly built contruct ship to upgrade the existed starbases.

not sure i would like that unless you could control the order of module building.

have you ever tried putting a rally point on a starbase and assigning planets to send built ships to that rally point?

Just having a starbase governor would help here - you would set a build queue as you would on a planet and every time a constructor arrives it advances the queue. This also leaves available the possibility of doing it manually. You could then just set a planet to build its queue of say constructor, defender, frigate, constructor etc and set a rally point of the starbase...

i hardly use them now since they take so much micromanagment and it just slows the game down abit to much to me.

I would love to see this as well, a constuctor with 3 modules so u get 3 picks. I hope the developers put this in a future expansion, next game...

same here, i just go for power fleets i just use starbases only if i need to or if its a resource starbase

I never bother to build weapons upgrades on a starbase anymore. They are too slow and expensive to upgrade. I just put a ship on the same tile and have it guard the starbase. It is easy to upgrade that ship as I get better weapons and armor. I feel that this area of the game is pretty flawed and needs some rethinking to make it practical to use starbases this way.
