this is taken from "our story this far" located in the databanks...

The Altarian Prophecy

When the humans came into contact with the Altarians, it was quite a shock. The Altarians and the humans look nearly identical and even DNA tests showed that they were the same species. The Altarians were a very spiritual people and their high priest read a prophecy that had been made over 100,000 years ago that one day the Altarians would meet their cousins and that amongst them they would come to learn how the beginning of the Altarians had come to be. It also hinted that the Altarians were the result of the interference of a powerful being called a Mithrilar -- but that the humans were not (i.e. the humans arrived naturally). This Mithrilar had apparently created another race in his own image as well that was thought to be extinct known as the Arnor.

The humans and Altarians, naturally enough, found their common traits lended themselves to building a trust and a friendly diplomatic relationship. This friendship came in handy when the Korx, a minor race that had grown increasingly powerful through its mercenary tendencies, had begun invading Altarian worlds. Eventually, it was learned that a hidden civilization known as the Drath were responsible. The Drath were apparently the original inhabitants of Altaria but the rise of the Altarians had forced the Drath to leave. The Drath, however, claim that they didn't leave (as they had no space travel at the time) but were rather transported to a distant world by the last of these "Mithrilar".

Most human analysists doubt the entire Drath scenario. The entire scenario sounded too much from a "science fiction" story. The Drath, not unlike other civilizations, simply were looking for ways to justify their aggressive behavior. By 2200, the entire affair had passed into history.

So, basically, some jerk aliens kidnapped a bunch of cave men from Earth, gave them some good technology, and threw them onto the homeworld of another race in order to deal with the natives there--the Drath. The Drath, despite being a clever and industrious people, couldn't resist the influence of the technoboosted cavemen. They were driven into hiding, but saved from extinction by a member of the "jerk alien" race who felt sorry for them and gave the survivors a new world. Thousands of years later, the two groups of humans were reunited. The Drath gave hyperdrive to the Korx as payment for starting a war with the Altarians, which angered the developers and made them patch the game such that it would be virtually impossible for anyone to ever pay another race to go to war ever again. The End.
