1.2 Finally, spy tools on gifts!!!!

or, no "fog of war" on gifted starbases

In an attempt to keep the Iconians from wiping out the Drengin, I sent in over 60 constructors to build two fairly complete military starbases in Drengin territory. I gifted the starbases to them and still have full sensors from the starbases without any other of my ships present.

i've noticed this too. "fog of war" updates only take place it seems when a ship is selected or moves (with autopilot). i've noticed this when using the cheat to remove the for of war, planets and stars become visible but the fog stays until i select a ship. i've also noticed the mini-map won't update until i select a ship. the newest version might fix it...

Ya the Fog in this game needs some more work. For instance once you've seen a planet or starbase, you forever know it's status. IE what's in orbit on that planet, who owns it, or that the starbase was built/destroyed.

In early game, I'd agree with you completely. However, once you've reached mid game and a decent level of intelligence on a specific race, I can see having that info.

As far as a starbase being built/destroyed...once you know where it is, stellar cartography might be able to keep track of its existance/lack of.

In my current game the Iconians finally wiped out the Drengin. The starbases are gone, but I still have full sensors as if they were my starbases....and still existed. Since I also have Eyes of the Universe, this is a considerable amount of territory.
