Can't post to forum w/ Firefox 1.5x browser

Anyone else having a problem posting to this forum using FF? I can post w/ IE 7 beta. Never had any problem before, so I don't know if it's just me or not.

I do, if you read things by highlighting text- Firefox will crash very quickly...

Is that the problem? I can never seem to post a topic on these forums, so I'm always replying to topics like these. I think I'll try IE later on.

You highlight text also , wow I thought I was the only one. I have firefox and no problems except some posts take way to long to load

FF 1.5.0.4 -works fine

It works fine for me too, however sometimes I just get a white screen when using tab browsing in the fourms.

I'm using Firefox 1.5.0.4 and I've never been able to post a new topic here in Firefox. It always gives me an error message about not being able to submit my post and to try again. I tried to post the same thing at least 10 times and got that error every time before I went to IE.

Then in IE the forum lost all my line break data and such even though I had selected plain text mode so now on top of having to use IE to post a new thread I have to write in my own HTML code.

Same problem for me. What a bummer when I saw that my whole debug.err file lost ALL of its formatting. Yeah, like anyone will take the time to unscramble that mess long enough to answer my question. HA!

BTW, I'm replying to this thread w/ FF 1.5.0.4. Posting replies, as others have mentioned works fine, but creating original posts fail. Hey, FROGBOY, please take note: this home-cooked forum tool has serious cross-browser compatibility issues.

Yeah I can't create new threads using Firefox 1.5.0.4 either only reply to existing ones. Editing them is a real pain too because 80% of the time it doesn't save the changes and the formatting is all screwy. I always have to copy what I've just written into a blank text document before I hit the submit button or I risk it just disappearing. Going to options and alternating text mode/html mode helps sometimes but it gets so danged annoying quickly. Even editing in IE6 is a hit and miss affair.

edit test 1: hmm editing seems to be working perfectly now, must've been a mouse in the forums a couple of days ago.

This comment added using Firefox 1.5.0.4.

The issue isn't replying to exisiting threads, a lot of people are having problems creating new ones with FF.

Been lurking this site using firefox for a couple months, but didn't register and post till today. I just posted with firefox 1.07 (I use an older version as the newer ones don't work with my shakey system set-up for some unknown reason) on another thread. I clicked "submit" and the new page it went to was just a blank screen. Clicked a bookmark to get back to the forum, but when I tried looking for the thread I posted on, the first page change cause another blank screen.

Fired up IE, went to a favorite, found the thread I originally wrote the post for and the post I had submitted was there.

While writing this post, I started a new firefox browser to see if I could see the post. it would give a blank screen when I clicked on the thread. So I guess once you post on a thread using firefox, you can not view that thread's contents again using firefox. Strange.

Now i'll find out what happens when I click the submit button on this thread using IE....

No problem, apparently. So looks like it is IE only here.

Quick reply box below thread works with Firefox 1.5.X but not if I create a new post entirely.

I have make new posts with IE It gives a small red error text something like this "error posting the message, try again later".

I tried out the "create post" button not realising it makes a new thread somewhere else on the forum. I thought it just added a post to the thread. This is using IE. I got an error message also, but it said I needed to write in a "title". Which I then did and it then posted the thread when I clicked the submit button a 2nd time.

Back to firefox (1.07 version) I noticed that even with a newly opened browser, it wont let me view any thread I've posted on. Even the threads I posted on only using IE like this one.

Testing, 1 2... I can't start new threads, and that's nothing new. But now I can't reply, either, at least in Firefox or Opera. I'm trying IE now.

Edit: Well hey, it worked!

They changed around the forum post screens a bit with a different interface, and it absolutely doesn't like Firefox.

Thats a shame since Firefox is used by practically everyone nowadays. I never use IE anymore simply because of the BHO problems that are rampant with it. Plus FF is far more stable and I like the interface better personally. It probably would be a better idea to find a forum software that supports the top 4 on the market. There are tons out there that are IE, FF, Opera and Netscape friendly.

Does anyone know if it also affects the Library uploads trying to use FF?

Same problems here. I can't post new topics, and after I reply I can't view them in Firefox. They just show up as a blank screen. Version 1.0.7

I've uploaded to the library twice without a problem (aside from the standard Dev approval lag) through Firefox. I also still have no problems with posting replies, but creating a new thread is an issue. (Firefox 1.5.0.4)

Hello all. I've made several test posts with firefox 1.5.0.4 recently (Friday afternoon and after) with no issue. If you're having a specific problem, we'll need to know the error message if any, and screenshots always help.

El Tea, I'm sorry but we will not be supporting any version of firefox other than the latest. Cross browser support is difficult in it's own right, without going even further to cross-browser, cross-version support.
