Yes, the only issue would be if you have reached "maximum" activations, you will need to contact tech support to reset your account. In this case, just provide the e-mail used to set-up your account and your serial number(s) of the product(s), along with your request.

For backing up skins and themes, I wrote a mini tutorial here http://corkyo.wincustomize.com/Articles.aspx?AID=82928

Note - you can simply back-up the downloaded skins and themes by opening the folder containing them and selecting just the downloaded items.

Note. if your subscription has expired you will not be abel to redownload it from SDC. Archive the programs first.

I just became a subscriber a few weeks ago...I'm a n00b, big time. And slowly learning. How do I know if I have all of remnants of WC, SD and OD+ removed? I mean does it install stuff in hidden places like typical of other software? BTW, really good guide for backing up my themes.! Thank you sooo much. And I guess I should probably ask, "is there anything I may be forgetting? Thnx, guys...this community really rox.

Locations for installed files:

1 - C:\Program Files

2 - C:\Program Files\Common Files

3 - C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs

4 - C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Start Menu\Programs

5 - C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\Application Data

6 - C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\Temp

7 - Various locations in the Registry (not recommended for new users to work with).

Note - these are various locations where files and folders may or may not be still in existence after uninstalling the programs. Look for "Stardock", "SDCentral", "ObjectDock", and "Object Desktop" folders.

There may also be some files in the "C:\WINDOWS" folder, but this is another folder you may want to steer clear of until you feel perfectly confident that what you are removing is no longer needed.

If you are replacing the hard drive, there is no need to worry about leftover files, assuming you will be reformatting or destroying the old drive.

If you're replacing the HardDrive, why bother to uninstall anything?

I would get the new drive working, install the Stardock programs, and then hook up the old drive, and copy my themes, and skins from there.
Then, if you want, you could wipe the old drive clean.
