Going broke

I know I've seen others post this, but I was just playing along and had an income of about 3k. Next thing I know I hit turn and had a negitive balance. I cut off everything and just hit end turn a bunch of times hoping it would fix itself, but it never did. I have the save game if the dev's need it, but truthfully I'm not sure if it would help. If I can get it to work, there should be a link to a screen shot below. [link="http://portalsofadventure.com/wtf.jpg"]wtf jpg">Link

Well, that didn't work and it will not let me edit it. Lets try it again...

Ouchie, bug. Post a debug.err? I want to see what the hell is doing this

Yep. Thats a bug. Just stating the obvious.

Thats happened to me before too. Except my computer had it's OS reinstalled due to some corruption problems, or some such nonsense, so no .err file.

I've also had a planets population turn into a positive number of similar size, but, unlike the money thing, that fixed itself.

An underflow isn't it? This is a long integer or word 's problem? See similar one in other games before for sure.

Wouldn't it be a bitch if the microprocessor really has an intelligence and has just decided that ever 1 in 1 quadrillion numbers it crunches it's going to switch the 0 to a 1 on you just to fu k with ya. LOL

Its probably just Windows doing what Windows is good at - being bad.... lol

If only we still had good old Amiga Workbench

I've had a game crash because Windows, in the middle of it, out of the blue, decided to update itself without asking me, and wanted to reset the computer....

Good thing I set the game up to save every turn....

That has happened to me as well. Actually more than once. Probably every 3rd or 4th game my money suddenly drops drastically even though I have a positive income. Never as bad as yours though. I can usually play for a few turns and bring the balance back up, so it's more of an inconvenience than a game destroyer.

What did you do, select Republican as your political party?

I also had a bank balance of over 200k before it did that. As I hate posting debug logs, here is a link to it as a txt file so that those who want to read it can (its long). Link

I saw the huge negative number that was all fine, but then I saw the red unhappy frowning face and I cracked up. It looks so silly, especially the huge debt.

Hey does reloading the previous turn fix it or is your game ruined?

And I agree about the political joke.

Muahahahahahahahaha

Okay, I've never seen that happen in any of my games but if I had, GWB would be first to cross my mind. Good one there.

Is Republican a selection in the game? Then hope all of you be clever enough not to take part in.
