K is borked

Back when I first installed and played game, auto attack(k) seemed to last for quite some time, and to verify it, the word, 'attack' appeared under the squadron, what ever happened to that? K needs remashing each damn turn, its really a game breaking change for the worse. Do you plan to fix K or just let auto attack, do nothing. I noticed Guard and Sentry, no longer appears under my fleets when I set that either. Why are you making the game WORSE for us?

Perhaps... just perhaps... they're busy ruining the game with, say, additional content? a new combat system? So you're saying you don't want the effort of telling a ship to attack something manually, but you have the effort to come here to rant about, ahem, how you
can't believe I paid for this horse crap.

Learn what game breaking means too. Seriously. Insta CTD: game breaking. Overheating bug: game breaking. AI failure to initiate: game breaking. One hot key not doing what you want it to: a minor bug.

The game is constantly getting better. If in your world better means worse, then I would leave before the second expansion and the "nirvana of crapness".

You know what I hate?

When somebody starts a thread with an ambiguous name and then complains about some tiny little feature on a great game. You should say something if a feature isn' working, but you dont' need to bitch about it, grow up...

...or go "bork" yourself

Oh something like that seen before. I ordered a ship to auto-explore and placed it into the orbit. When I pulled it out there, the ship just ran like a cockroach automatically.

Well, sometimes I have a problem with ships/fleets staying in their "mode" each turn. Most commonly, Sentry, Gaurd, and AutoAttack. (Have yet to use AutoRetreat) By giving a ship/fleet one of those orders with the keyboard, it sometimes doesn't hold that order if I end the turn without selecting something else... Also, since most of us don't use AutoFocus now that they gave the option to turn it off finally, you can select any of the enemies things, then click the "Find" button. It will then take you to a ship/fleet that doesn't have any orders. If the button pops up and camera doesn't move, then all of your ships have orders or are in orbit of a planet.

Having to reissue orders for 50 ships each and every game turn is hardly a "minor bug", Marcathonas, but it's good to see you're still having fun jumping down the throats of people who are having legitimate problems that you aren't.

Everyone agrees the game is great, but why can't people ask a simple question without getting flamed by you guys. This is the same thing that brought down the mech tech world. Lack of civility.

Please don't ruin are game with your rudeness.

Peace

I've noticed that Auto Attack doesn't work on mine either. Or that you can't give it two orders like Auto Explore and attack.

Another development that came and went was the really nice coloured flight plan you got when you sent ships out on the main map - I think it was in 1.0X or 1.1 somewhere round there.

I thought it was great, because when I had 20 - 30 colony ships moving about, I knew where each one was going, so I didn't have to rename each one with its destination planet.

I would like to see that one make a comeback.

There are three reasons you could feel they're making the game worse:
1) They're trying to please someone else, and displeasing you
2) They're trying to fix one thing, and breaking something else
3) They're evil bastards and delete five random lines of code every beta to watch you scream.

3) is not it, so I think your post would have been more effective if you had just let us know about this (maybe they never use auto attack, I don't) and left off the sentence "Why are you making the game WORSE for us?" It's rude to say they're doing it on purpose.

I've never used Auto Attack before, I'll have to try it in the game I'm in to see if the same thing happens to me. With Auto Explore though, all my ships that I set on it migrate towards the same path and I end up with dozens of scouts all flying in a line like Lemmings. This sort of defeats the purpose of Auto Exploring. The exploration path should be random each time you click w. At least this way some of your scouts would go explore somewhere different.

And I will proceed to do so whenever someone flames the game for something pointless. For example you, complaining how bad the AI is because it's beaten you with a legitimate tactic you couldn't see.

What can I say, idiots irritate me. The hotkey thing is an issue, yes I'll agree it would be great if it was fixed. However, I'm not going to even bother asking the devs to stop improving the game to fix a small issue. Yes: it is small. If you can still play the game, then it isn't game breaking. The game is getting better every patch. As I said, if you take "better" to mean "worse", then you REALLY aren't going to like the game in a while.

i think replies like marcothonas' are more in response to the tone of the post - there is nothing wrong with pointing out a flaw/gripe you have with the game but it should be done politely and with respect, and the OP was done with neither.

@ random name!
You should understanding that there are ranks in this world, so when someone try to ask/represent sg. that is not welcomed by the higher others, he would be fired out by activating the higher-group-power, either by insult or backstab. You will be considered impolite and without respection in any case, & whatever you do. Then you will be explained as whatever you said is idiotic and underbred. Finally you will be known by everyone that you are a leper and don't belong to this planet because you are not along with their native. So you should understand all what the other's said before "growing up".

I'm glad this was confirmed, by more than two sensible posters.

Autoattack used to find enemies like Survey found anomalies. When game first came out, it did, anyway.
Then they patched it. Autoattack took ship to the location of where an enemy was at the time K was issued then toggle itself off.
Now it just doesn't work, at all.

Why are you making the game worse? Instead of 150 thinking captains flying 150 ships, I have 150 dumbwaiters.

Or perhaps yourself, for completely missing the real point of the post you are talking about, even after it was explained in excruciating detail? But nevermind my posts, you are deliberately trying to derail this thread to hide the fact that your arguments are inane, because the OP of this thread isn't asking for all other development to cease in order to address his one issue.

ringapromethius just wants a feature that saves a lot of time which worked before to work again, so that he doesn't have to reissue orders for dozens of ships every single turn, but as usual you reduce a valid point to infinitessimal size and expand your own arguments to ridiculous proportions just to make yourself look better than everyone else, a sad tactic that small people have used for time immemorial to boost their low self esteem.

In case you didn't realise, I said myself I would like it fix. Would you like me to explain that in excrutiating detail? Pouring acid over your idiotic face for example? Get over yourself. His manner is the point I was making, he has been flaming the game before. As for my arguments being inane, the ones he (and you) use are weak, pathetic crap.

As for me having a small amount of self esteem, well done! You've proved your stupidity to great lengths. ONE BUTTON BEING BROKEN IS NOT A HUGE ISSUE MORON!

Geez children.

OK the function is now broke. Tell them and ask them to fix it.

and by the way (for those that NEED this) Quit bickering.

(I never knew that there were any "auto" functions)

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, we will look into it (and, as you can tell, we don't use auto-attack very often or this wouldn't have slipped through).

Lightworker: The autopilot lines shouldn't have disappeared, but if they are can you make a seperate bug post on the matter. Has anyone else had this happen to them?

And, before anyone says anything they're going to regret, lets lock this thread up and throw away the key
