Offline Metaverse games?

I'd love to play more metaverse games, but I cannot because it requires Internet access throughout the entire game, which is very hard for me because of my Dial-up connection.

A neat feature for Dial-up users would be to have "offline metaverse games." You can play these all the way through offline, and when the game is finished, the results are saved for future uploading next time you connect to the metaverse. Or, you could start playing the game online, save the game, get offline, and continue offline.

I know that because a lot of people use broadband connections and thus don't have to worry about hogging the phone line/logging on and off, but I would really appriciate it, as well as any dial-up users.

This is actually the case already.

You don't even have to save, just start your metaverse game, Alt+Tab to the desktop, disconect from the internet and continue playing. After you finished your game GalCiv2 tries to connect with the metaverse to send your score, so windows will ask you if you want to dial in again.

yeah its not hard at all, especially after your first save you just reload it again without connecting, and at the end it will say do you want to post the game? and you say yes and you then reconnect.
