Rally points

I have had trouble managing rally points. perhaps I'm missing something obvious as its not in the manual at all.

I would like to... say, command all of my newly built fighters to head to one area of the map.

I can get a rally point manager up with only two options. none and home. is there a way to create a new rally point?
if so, how?

what am I missing?

There's a button at the top of the lower left part of your HUD. Looks like a little circle with an arrow pointing down into it. Click that to place rally points.

There is a complete tutorial video about this topic in your game...

Short explanation: There is a little Symbol on the bootom left of the main interface, just click on it and create a new rally point.
