Am I alone in the GalCiv2 Universe?

I've started playing the 1.2 beta. All seems more or less fine, except when I select random opponents I keep getting the Custom Race instead of the Terrans. While this doesn't seem to alter the game much it does ruin the fantasy somewhat.

I've not seen anyone else complaining of this, which means it might just be me.

Yeah, it was pretty stark and broke the suspension of disbelief. Im sure they will fix that. I just started referring to him as 'My Man the Meshman' hehe

I don't know why but try rebooting your computer. Worked for me.

Kosty, that must be the dumbest suggestion I've ever heard.

As I said it is a random selection. I only have to press Ctl-N to get another set of opponents. Once the opponents are set then no amount of rebooting changes that.

This has been fixed for the next update. You won't get your custom civ if you use random opponents any more.
