ethics -my 2 centavos

I read a lot about how people rate neutatality so highly and how evil rocks, good sucks. Here are some of my thoughts especiallyly when playing masochist lvl.

Neutral gain a big gain as soon as ethics is researched, extra squares instantly and you can research to get better trade and research.

The others do not really get much until they research the line fully and can build some really cool buildings. Evil can doulble their money and their ship building and if that is not worth kicking your granny what is?
Good might, might get an opponent in a war surrender to them rather than some other ****er. It can get a (I think 20%) bonus to defence.
As for the good and evil special weapons and defence - wtf? they cost too much. 3 or 4 techs more and you get items which might do less but are smaller, cheaper and when you outfit a hull with them you have a ship which does the same but costs half as much. OK sometimes they do make a damn nice ship, but on high difficulty - they just cost the earth/yoy/ toria... you get the idea

I am not demanding change. It would be nice tho if this was balenced a bit more.

They are balanced in my opinion, good gets diplo bonuses as well and a 25% plus to trade routes with other good nations. They also ally really easily and gang up on the evil races. Evil get a planet to planet bonus but are ganged up on and get all the other things you mentioned. Neutral gets all the afore said plus neutrality centers, discounts when buying ships and extra trade routes but arent really liked nor disliked by anyone

i dont think it is ballenced at all, nutrallity has all the trump cards and good just plain old suxors, evils not bad, but good sux. The only advantage that good has is with diplomacy with other good guys, but nothing that neutral cant do (especially with the extra trade routes that you get)

Good does need something to make it worth taking all those hits against production / research, PQ bonuses along the way.

Generally speaking, special weapons and armor get 2x the effectiveness for 2x the cost for the same space as equivalent tech. This means you get +50% attack for +50% cost. Extremely good. If you blaze through the tech tree, sure eventually they will suck, but if you select good and pick the good armor, you can blaze through logistics or grab a bigger hull or hell my favorite: cut tech spending and go massive military spending and actually use the tech you just researched.

Good is fine, I love playing a good ethic race. Drath + good armor = complete and utter domination. You laugh at silly enemies trying to hit your ships.
