Transparency Themes & WB Painting Problems

This might well be related to the other WB painting problem (https://forums.stardock.com/?ForumID=167&AID=112221#903129) however it is not so bad that I have got rid of WB.

I use hibernate alot, and often go for a few weeks without rebooting. After a recent boot I can run themes with transparent borders no problems. However, at some point, they "fail" and suddenly half the running apps are not painted properly (unless I use ALT-TAB). I then change to a non-transparent based theme and everything behaves.

Have I missed another post about this - or is this a genuine problem?

My setup is win XP Pro SP2, with -

NVIDIA GeForce Go 6200

if the drivers aren't current, try updating
if the drivers are current, try rolling back

can't find all the various posts concerning drivers, but I recall in a lot of them the solution was a either a roll back or update depending on what you have.

Thanks for the quick reply. I had not checked for a while the driver version (the latest one came out Jan / Feb time). However this new version solved a number critical flicker and power saving issues, so rolling back is not great.
The other aspect is that this card is in a Sony Viao, and I have (now) noticed that the version released by Sony is a few version behind the Forceworks available from NVIDIA...
I need to investigate and cautiously try the latest drivers!

I'm running GForce 6100 and I had real problems with the new forceware they had for download. This was about a month and a half ago though. I forget what version, but I rolled it back and haven't had many problems since.

I'm using driver 8.1.3.3. If that is newer then the one you have, try that out and see if it helps.

As Sir Bichur (the gremlin ) noted, there have been others who have had prob's with Nvidia drivers.

I have download 84.25, which according to www.laptopvideo2go.com (am I allowed to mention another site?) - is the most stable version for general use.

That has been running for over a week now, and the WB problem appear to be solved !

Thanks for the comments & help
