User-created infinite loop

Thinking that I had recalled all of my anomaly-exploring sensor ships, I upgraded them into fighters without sensors. However, one was still out there, on Auto-Survey, and on its way to the last anomaly of the map. When it got there, though, it didn't have sensors, but was still set to auto-explore anomalies, and so it made it to an adjacent square, tried to move onto it, popped up the message that only ships with etc. can do this, and then repeated that move after I pressed Done. I couldn't get out to the menu, even, and had to Alt-F4.

I know I made a mistake, but I doubt I'd be the only one, ever.

What version of the game do you have?

Please update to version 1.11. That problem is fixed in that version.

When you reload your game, you may need to back up a few turns before you got to the anomaly, since your saved game will still have the ship on auto-survey. Then you can just turn off auto-survey for that ship. If you go back to a turn before the upgrade, the loop problem shouldn't occur again.

I had restored an earlier save and played through without problem, I didn't know if this had been addressed and wanted to let someone besides my friends that I complain to about it.

No problem. I just wanted to make sure the problem hadn't resurfaced. Glad to hear that wasn't the case
