Both ships fire at the same time. So defence is now valuable. Did I just hear the sweet sound of my beloved Drath becoming even more great?

Mod folders will start working too. Other than that I don't know, but since they're going for end of the month release the beta's will probably be out in a couple of weeks.

And we've only just been given 1.1

How about making a ship component (need Tech Researched first) that lets your ship fire first?

There may even be multiple higher-Tech versions of ship components--so it becomes a race for races to research/build the higher-Tech ship component that lets your ship to fire first--a major advantage.


Personally, I find the ship battle strategy of GalCiv2 lacking; just research for the most powerful weapon, and or defense, and add a military starbase to beef up defense posture even more.

Alt +S

How about a adding new Alt +S function, which will save a freshly generated map, so that it can be edited in the GC2 Builder map editor. Because it is too cumbersome to create a large map from scratch in the map editor, it makes more sense to have the game generate a map, save it, and in turn edit that map in the editor.

Notwithstanding the above super-hilarious posts, does anyone have any further information on what's going to be coming out in 1.2? I was expecting there would be a developer's journal with some changelog details.

What about the release date? They said "May", which has a tendency to turn into "June".

I think they did say the end of the month, so its probably at the last week of May (in 2 weeks) or the first or second week of June, so probably between 2 and 4 weeks til release of 1.2

I'd expect various bugfixes and various adjustments to stuff like the hardpoint not bieng in alignment. Also, they have a developers journal asking about what we want improved for the UI, so we could be seeing some improvements to the UI in 1.2

also, BogleBac (stardock) replied in that dev journal about UI:
Hey Gang,
Just wanted to let you know that we're plugging away at the UI list as we speek. SOme new welcome additions include...

-Colony Management List: Ability to toggle production focus
-Colony Management List:Number of open tiles on a planet dicplayed next to class - ex: 10 (2)
-Colony Management List:Pressing the T button on this screen will let you set the rally point of the selected colony (also works on the colony details and planet screen)
-Planet Wnd: Can now delete projects using delete key, also can decomission imps being upgraded with the Decomission bulldozer.
-Planet Wnd: Max possible population listed.

-Can select a planet without seleted ship being de-selected (for colony and invasion purposes)
-Differect Anomaly color on tactics window for Wormholes.
-Option to move camera to selected planet on the colony management list.
Alot of these changes have made gigantic games considerably easier to play. We're going to keep working on the UI and I'll have more to report later!

hmm, what about a way to save favorite colors that you use for the ships (in the game setup screen) so that you can easily choose them when you want a specific color?

I offered a sacrifice to the Stardock gods every day to FIX THE MOTHER%^@$* AUTOFOCUS!!!!!! Looks like it worked. Good thing too, because I was running out of goats........

I'm waiting for this patch with all the urgency of a drunk standing in a long line to the restroom. Gonna start hopping on one leg pretty soon......... :-x

OMG, the improvement to the colony management rocks! The more info they can cramp in there the better!

I also read somewhere that they are fixing it, so that you can upgrade fleets , without having to disband, split them up one by one before upgrading!
