Some Minor Tweeks that I see are needed..

Tech Tree, Building buildings and ships..

It would be nice if you could put a zoom function on the Tech Tree.. I keep Grabbing it and throwing it about like an epileptic twit.. If you could put in a function were you can zoom in and out using the mouse wheel.. That would be wonderful!!

Building Modes.. It would also be nice if I had more control over my buildings.. I do not know how many times I have been trying to scroll down the Building options menu and accidentally built a building because I was 1/16" of an inch off when I clicked..
And the Building starts building.. But I CAN’T STOP IT, I CAN’T DEMONLISH IT..
And I can’t get the money back I didn’t have to build it in the first place..

Upgrading buildings.. I don’t know how many times I have crashed my economy because all of the buildings start Upgrading at the same time. What I really want to build I can’t because all my little workers are upgrading stuff I do not need them too.. More control over that would be nice too.. Which leads to the topic of Micro VS Macro-management.

Micro management of a planet verses Macro management of a system..
You have 10 planets.. 4 are fully developed, 6 are about half way through their growth..
But you can not control the 4 fully developed planets (i.e allow them to do research or make ships. You can.. But you can’t) Because the other 6 planets need the higher social production..
Each planet, even thou under one united person, should be individually controlled..

Leading to the important question of how do you do that without taking up to much of your time micro managing, and more time giving people atom bomb Christmas presents..
For you!… Ohh for me!?.. You shouldn’t have!.. No really, I insist for you!.. Don’t open it till Christmas....! hehe BOOM!

It’s a complicated suggestion.. I would have to guess that the easiest way to deal with it from a players stand point is to:
A. put 5 sliding bars in the colony list.. Each planet has its own set of bars..
B. Leave 2 bars alone.. (Taxation, and economic out output) and put the other three on the colony window..
C. Put no bars on the colony window but be able to click the Social, military, and Research Cell on the Colony list to control the planet.. Give each cell 3 clicks.. light, medium and full..
I’m sure it’s a programming nightmare.. But it’s just a thought..
And put an option in the game Options menu to trun it on and off..
Micro management on/off

Upgrading ships.. I have more than once accidentally started a ship upgrading, and can’t stop it.. or clicked the wrong button..

Yeah I know I should be more careful with what I click on.. However, ref back to the epileptic twit comment..

Lastly.. I would be nice to see more Woodland creature Race icons.. Because we all know cute fuzzy bunnies, hamsters, and the snuggles detergent bear are really demonic beings with plans for world domination.. Have you ever seen a hamster eat it’s off spring? That’s wicked! And tell me Snuggles isn't so happy hes about 5 seconds away from glowing red eyes and sharp claws coming out.. Repressed anger issues.. tick tick tick tick Here comes the boom!

Can someone also tell me why when building a building it say 15 weeks to complete the project in the lower right hand corner.. but when you click the building it say 2 weeks.. and it’s the only item on the list. I can understand it if its 12 in the line… but..
Or when you are planning on building it.. it say time to complete NEVER.. but you build it in 2 weeks after you click it.. I’m guessing it’s a bug..

Other than that.. YOU GUYS ROCK!!

Ok so i found the GOV. button which stops the auto upgrades.. For those of you who havnt found it.. click the planet, click details button.. Click The GOV button, and turn off automatic upgrades for the planet.

you can also move buildings up in the queue ie you need another extreme stadium but your 3 factories are upgrading to manufacturing - just selsect the stadion and in the right lower there are 3 buttons: you can cancel builng ur move up you stadion on the top of the queue production on social project isnt lost if you move them down the build list

Yes - there are up arrow, down arrow, and x buttons that can change building priority or cancel construction once you select it in the build queue. You can also click the circle-ish icons in the corners of the social, military, and research displays to "focus" on that part of production, shifting some of your other production to that type, for controlling what you do on individual planets. It's not the complete individual control by planet you want, but I think not being able to do that is a design decision to limit micromanaging and force players to use a strategic big picture approach (also because any micromanaging you can do, the computer can do too and once they get a lot of planets that could make turns much longer). If you're playing version 1.1, social production also transfers over to military production if you're not building anything, though in my experience you need to have the military slider set to at least 1% for it to work right. That could help with getting production out of fully-developed planets, though it's worth focusing on military anyway because the transferred-over production gets neither social nor military bonus production added on.

EDIT: Also for the tech tree, a zoom function would be nice, but there is a button that will at least expand the view so you can see the tech tree on almost all of the screen, but the list of available techs goes away (if you haven't found that already, even with the full-screen display it's still hard to see everything).

Yes you are correct you can move buildings up and down in the Que.. But if you build the wrong thing.. you stil lhave to wait X number of turns to demolish it. and the further down in the QUE it is.. the longer you have to wait..

And yes i know you can click the button and it shift the production of things from Research and military and so on.. However, IF you have your military on a Galactic scale set to 5 because you need more People to Build on another
6 planets. Then computer will set all military, research rates on all planets down to a low number.. So if you wanted to build a ship on 4 planets this week, and had the man power to do it.. You can't.. because on the other side of the galexy.. a new planet needs workers to produce faster.. The slider makes X amount of workers do the same thing universally.. and there for they are unavalible to something you would like them to do... Planet A's problems are now planet X problems.. and it should not be that way.. A) should have its own problems and X should have its own..

Everybody always wants Military Production !

But you don't always need it on a Planet, Especially when you haven't built the Starport yet, in which case, without a Starport there can be No military production. So, I'd like to be able to transfer the production to Social builds or to Research, and have the option of the unused Military Production converted into Cash ( X amount of bc. per week)[for that Rush-build you need].

I would also like the same flexibility for unused Social Production ( for when that 5PQ -rated planet has its five Tiles built on). It's the Micro-management that makes the game for me.

Yes Invasion or Battles provide the excitement; but otherwise it's click next turn after next turn until your ships/ improvements are built and then more clicking to get them to that new planet/resource/anomally/strategic-starbase-site/whatever.

But knowing what to build on which planet/site and when, all provide the strategic element more than the actual battles (IMHO).

I'm saying the same thing capt. yellow text is here..
Iets say I control 20 planets in a Gigantic galexy.. I'm only going to want starports on 4-5 of those 20 planets from which to launch my attacks from.. Thats means i want EVERYBODY into the star port making my ships.. That means that the other 15-16 planets need to be researching thier butts off, or out making me my money so when i need to build a better ship, i can!.. However, your not allowed to put Full social production of EVERBODY into reasearch or building because they are being assigned to a military that there is no star port for..
Essentially, they are dead beats on my economy.. hehe

And this is because of the slider Macro-managing..

Im thinking being able to click all of your production needs on the colony list would be the best option..
3x3 buttons.. no production- color it RED, med Production - Yellow, full production- green.. if they are all green then split ful pop/3.. you get the idea.. You would spend less time looking at your planets once they are built..
You can change all of your planets from one screen, instead of sliding sliders, picking indavidual planets, and clickin on it.. clicking back.. so on..

Ok maybe its not yellow.. *knocks screen*

I would be nice to say the game was completely about the battles.. but its called galactic CIVILIZATION.. not galactic warmongers. Less focus on the galactic... more on the civil..
