Coplann - Question?

I was wondering when we might look for B5 ships like Narn and Centari? I'm very interested these ships to round out the "major worlds". Like many, I'll be waiting!

Oh! I may be wrong, but I think the Omega Destroyer is a little small. It might be made just a tiny bit bigger; but I'm no modeller like you. Great job none the less!

iam re-evaluating the ship sizes in comparison to each other as I play through a game right now as Earth Alliance. I just dont have really time to play much at all so Iam only at medium hulls right now (will see Nova and Omega when I researched large hulls ^^).

Iam currently only doing 1 ship per week + modifications to ships already done if necessary. Iam spending like 25 to 50% of my weekend on it. if I had a clone that would go to college, to work, learn and do the homework for me I might have time to do more ships. until then, or until the end of the semester I cant afford more time for it.

I may have to redo the Nova first, because I accidently deleted/overwrote the files of it (doh me), but then at latest I will start to work on Centauri and Narn.

Thanks. Sounds good, but as you say, busy also. I'll be waiting for whatever you come up with. Also of note, the Menbari light cruiser doesn't have any hard points showing; at least what I've downloaded. Let me know if you think it's a problem on my end. Thanks for all your hard work!

We fans really ought to come up with some maps that take advantage of your ships. There’s a nice shadow-war mod that could be done using what you’ve built, and the Brakiri and Shadow ships that Vorlone added...

How would I go about map-making? Is there anyone else willing to help write some XML?

GC2Builder is a program for making custom maps and scenerios.
Have fun.

@tlwhite01: the Tinashi has hardpoints, but they may be a lil too small for manual placement. I will work on it when Iam done with the EA ships.

DUDE! love the Shadow ships but why only external attacment points? Battlecrabs look comical with engines and equipment strapped to the outer hull.

Even a single point INSIDE the hull wouldv'e been enough because I could build off of that.

Yes,we need an option where I can switching off the AI design your ships.

Skyjack, do you scale down the components to their smallest size? They are barely noticable that way.

If the AI the Ships uses gives this however no consideration to the size
I will place as test with my next models the dummies into the trunk.

You can still see them. All that would be needed is one or two points inside.

I just replaced all component x-files with tiny cubes. They are nearly invisible at biggest size! I will run a testgame now and upload them if it works fine.

In case anyone would find this useful... I've made a map (just a .jpg, not for GalCiv) of the B5 universe based on a B5 space sim I play:

Link - Here it is... warning, it's BIG! About 3.5 Megs, in fact. And obviously, this is not canon, but then again, I don't think a canon map of the B5 universe exists.

The hardpoints on the Tinashi took some time to get used to, but I think that the way they enable the model to retain its clean lines is well worth the extra time it takes to place the components. I only wish the battlecrab were the same way. I really enjoy that model.

Also, any plans on doing some vorlon ships?

Edit: after fooling around with kryo's hull mod I figured a way to not sully the crab's exterior. I installed the crab as jewelry. In the ship editor I placed a blank large hull and stuck a pylon sphere there. The crab hull fit right over it quite nicely. I was then able to just stick stuff inside the crab's hull and not touch the outer hardpoints. The result is spectacular, imho.
