Strange OD+WB5 problem!

Windows shutters if apply any other theme then the one applied!

Now this is hell strange.

I am using WindowsBlinds 5 and ObjectDock 1.3 free version.
In windowsblinds 5 i have applied the sliver BETA 1 theme from the VistaXp theme pack. The computer works fine on those settings.
Now if i apply any other theme the pc starts to shutter. The response time goes down. And if put the sliver BETA 1 theme back again, everything goes back to normal! If i quit OD irrespective of the theme, the pc works fine.

Now i am not sure what the problem is here. I knw the sliver BETA 1 theme is a fantastic theme but i have different tastes too!

Please help me out here!

Is this a Windowblind or a Theme? If it's a WB I've never come across it at the 4 or 5 skinning sites I normally scan. Who is the author? It'll be easier to help if we can get a little more info. What OS are you using? Is the theme you mention one of the standard Windows XP themes (blue, olive,silver) or is it something else?
If Object Dock is the problem it will probably be related to a
docklet. The standard way to find out is to remove all docklets and then add them one at a time to see which is the culprit.

Its WB5 theme. I can provide a download if u guys want it.

But that doesnt matter. Any other theme doesnt work except the sliver one.

Well i tried removing all the docklets one by one to see what the problem is but to no vain!

It might matter. If that's the only skin that works, maybe the skin borked something.

This is usually related to video overlay settings when alphablending is used by some app other than ObjDock (Windowblinds?).

So anyway to fix the overlay settings or something?

And sorry but i have deleted the theme from my computer! Will the theme be there in WB folder?

look at the WB folder here:

Some of the folder's names are in blue! WTF? does that mean its broken or it has been installed seperately?
I dont have the VistaXP theme but the folder is there...i cld zip it up maybe?

Dude, you can't find the one theme that works. I can't find it.

Let's start from scratch.
Post your WB config here.
Take a look at taskman when things start to stutter and tell us what's spiking.

For the record, this is a community help forum that is frequented by support and developers. If you want formal support you should go to stardock.helpserve.com and create a case/ticket/etc. And Neil (Post #7) is a WB God.

Oh found a solution!

I went into WB and set a per application settings for ObjectDock.exe and told it use the Sliver BETA 1 skin for OD. And now everything works fine! I can apply new themes and there is no shutter.

Hope it works fine.

I can't imagine why WB would even try to skin OD+ !

I don't use WB so it's never going to be a problem for me, but OD+ has it's own means of customising the look - is it somehow intgrated with WB?

Oh no, false alarm!

It didnt work.

Well the problem seems to be of WindowsBlinds because i tried Y'z dock and it gave me the same result!
It enable autohide(on both the softwares) there is a slight improvment.

What is WB doing to these softwares?

I dont want to let go of WB....it has the most amazing themes!

Edit:
ookay...i tried StyleXP trial version and i get the same result! So the problems are with these dock softwares!
What the hell is going on! Is there something wrong with my laptop or windows?

That Vista XP skin is Kol's I believe. I doubt that the skin is faulty. Has to be something else...

Yea its from Kol if i remember correctly.

Anyways i have moved on to RKLauncher which is working fine i guess.
