"Oh, vanity, thy name is Professor Farnsworth."

Just noticed this and thought it was serendipitous that I happened upon it before it was gone. This character was originally the Space Pope from Futurama (the source of most of my references thus far), but I've been doing a Disgaea theme recently...

My apologies if you felt this was a waste of your time, but what did you expect with a title like that?

Heh. Well Flonne is barely tolerable herself. Do you have Laharl or Etna too ? The things they utter in response to Flonne: PRICELESS.

also humorous is that Flonne is elite (1337)

Yes, well Etna was by far my favorite character from that game, but in keeping with the theme Flonne took over The Space Pope's record. I have 3 characters: good, neutral and evil for whenever I feel like playing a certain way. At least I planned it that way.

I started my empire as the D.O.O.P. (Democratic Order Of Planets from Futurama) with The Space Pope, a guy with a brain slug attached to his head, and was deciding on using either the robot devil or the bloated human man-blob bender from that episode with the 'what if' machine... anyway, there are too many fun characters out there so I'll probably rotate them out every so often. Etna is set as my evil character now, but I haven't actually played a metaverse evil game yet. (I've been busy)

Now as I'm sure I've gone on about this longer than anyone is interested...
Here are some random quotes about the D.O.O.P.

Fry: DOOP? What's that?
Professor: It's similar to the United Nations from your time, Fry.
Fry: Duuuh?
Hermes: Or like the Federation from your Star Trek program!
Fry: Ohh!

Zapp: I hate these filthy Neutrals, Kif. With enemies you know where they stand but with Neutrals, who knows? It sickens me.

Zapp: What makes a man turn neutral? Lust for gold? Power? Or were you just born with a heart full of neutrality?

Believe it or not, I sort of agree with the guy, although from a different perspective (I'm all for neutrals). You know where you stand with good guys or evil guys, but with neutrals, anything goes. Anyway, that's a long, complicated and a bit of philosophical rant.

On a more empire-related note, is there a way to converse with the other two members? A specific thread or something? Because it would be nice to see who I decided to team up with, and I don't want to be the antisocial of the gang.

I've wondered this also and it seems that short of sharing e-mail addresses or other contact information it would have to be a thread. I thought about starting one, but most of the people who have joined seemed to have stopped playing a while back (including me), so after a while I stopped checking. I just randomly stopped by and saw that you had played a few more rounds after a break so I promoted you, congratulations. ^^ If you still would like a D.O.O.P. topic I could create one, or you can if you'd like, I just don't know how much activity there will be on it with our current membership.

I've been meaning to play once in a while and I actually have on occation, but I've been a little busy moving and playing various other games. I have this one gigantic galaxy map with lots of planets, etc, where I'm going for a complete military victory. I already passed the hard part and own about 40% of the galaxy while several other races are still alive so victory is secure however, mopping up the rest of the galaxy has become a routine and frankly boring task most of the time. One thing that doesn't help is that I'm just too stubborn to allow any governers to take over so that I can use even my newly aquired planets efficiently... When I do boot it up, I take about an hour getting re-aquinted with the galaxy and how things were going, and only get a few turns off due to all the micro management invloved. My production graph will have an unprecidented number of spikes this game. ^^; If it drags on much longer I may just give up and make it a political victory or something... but I wanted to see how many points I would get from the massive population that I'll have by the end, and besides a political victory won't look good on my evil character's record.
