Waypoint query

What the hell are they?

OK, I have so far seen several posts about waypoints and as I generally understand them, waypoints are where you set a unit to goto A, goto B, goto C, goto final destination. Is this the case with GC2? Or are what people call waypoints actually rally points?

If I am right, how are they implemented? I have had a bit of a click around (1.1) and can't see anything and after a quick search of the forums all I have turned up are discussions about what people would like them to do.

Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

I don't know how to use waypoints (a->b->c stuff) in GC2. There are rally points, however.

There are no waypoints in GalCiv2. However there can be if enough people want it/make enough fuss. Waypoints != Rally Points, Rally Points are what you can set planets to send their completed ships too, waypoints are places a unit visits once which is quickly defined by the player.

Well, I want proper waypoints. Consider fuss made!

i think there should be a patrol command ie ships stay inside your borders and patrol and attack enamy ships that come in side the borders rather than have your fleets half way cross the galaxy
