Serial number- Captials? No Caps? Dashes? It doesn't work!

I just upgraded my collector's edition to the patched version, and I can not figure out how to enter in my serial number. Do I have all letters capitalized? Do I put in the dashes so it would be similar to XXXX-XXXX-XXXX? It refuses to accept my serial #.!

if your serial begins with GC2- .....
it's a collector edition serial number
please consult stardock knowledge base on this matter Link

Yeah, that tripped me up last night trying to activate the patch. Bit misleading as the Euro Collectors Edition calls the GC2-xxxx number the serial number.

A quick look around on the forum and a similar link to the one above sorted me out soon enough.
