No Sound / No Music / No Tutorials after v1.1 over SDC

Hi!

ive bought the game a while ago tried the game (run nice except 2-3 crashes and some minor bugs while playing 2 weeks) and decided to wait for 1.1 before gaming like mad (as i did with moo2 ).

today i updated through sdc and came up with a strange behaviour. the game ran nicely but there were NO music, NO effects and NO Tutorials (and no opening movie) in the game.

why?

i tried to reapply the patch.
after i found out that the music, sound and tutorial folders were EMPTY i tried to update multimedia, movies and tutorials but stardock didnt thought about downloading.

i decided to deinstall and install the game and while deinstalling stardock central mentioned that there is no multimedia, movies and tutorials installed. (edit: it says something like: "trying to deinstall 'Multimedia' but oddly no 'Multimedia was found. Set its state to 'Uninstalled'?")

im now installing from scratch. hope this works.

thanks
marcel

It sounds like your multimedia stuff and other sub-modules are not installed.

i installed from scratch.

1) i restored Galactic Civilizations II_1.0X.010_03.06.2006.sdc
2) SDC started to download movies multimedia and tutorials.
3) SDC started to download the latest update.
-> music, movies and tutorial is gone

BEFORE (i do not remember very well when, but before i started the game after 3)) the movie, music and tutorial folders were FULL of files.

something with the update or SDC is wrong.

current state:

Stardock Central says Movies, Multimedia, Tutorials IS installed, but in game ive got no music, no sound and no videos. the corresponding folders are empty (and were full before).

i do not modify anything by myself.

SDC Version:
2.32.398 build 129
GalCiv2:
1.10.027
Movies:
1.0.013
Multimedia:
1.0.042
Tutorials:
1.0.015

as read in SDC as "installed".

Empty Folders after Patch (and NOT before):
"Event Music"
"Movies"
"Movies\Tech"
"music"
"sfx"

edit:
LOL! i just tried to archive my "Movies" with SDC. It created a Archive in no time and guess how big it is
1KB
no error message though.

something is wrong. tomorrow ill try to reinstall SDC. since noone else is complaining there must be a way that this does not happen. strange.

no way. everytime i try to install music, tutorials and movies are deleted by the installer somehow.
ill try to deinstall everything including sdc and download everything new. i hope that after that i dont end up with a empty music folder again

im beginning to hate 1.1 everything ran so smooth before.

okay, it does work now.
i needed to deinstall SDC and download the whole game again. just updating was not possible.
its okay for now, but nevertheless there is a bug somewhere which occurs under certain circumstances...
