Version 1.0x2 - Still no NLC

As the title says. Using version 1.0x2 I can RESEARCH NLC but I still don't have it in the build list. Is there another prereq I don't know about? I hesitate to go to 1.1 since my game is very stable and still fun.

NLC are not in 1.0. They are in the 1.1 betas. Frogboy says the final 1.1 should be out next week....

Neutral Learning Centers, or somehting like that.... A learning center that is neutral, gives the highest research bonus of all the research centers. Even beats out the discovery sphere.

I don't know about "beats the crap out of" but it is a bit nicer. The NLC is branched off of research centers (meaning you get them before invention matrix) which is their real bonus. They give 22 tubes whereas a discovery sphere gives 20, not a huge difference but the early aquisition of them can be a massive boost. You should still research to discovery spheres eventually though for the omega research center galactic wonder. The only problem with the NLC is that they don't automatically upgrade from other research centers, but thats fixable with a little xml surgery.

If you try to fix the upgrade path don't forget to stop the other upgrade paths or you run into a real conflict when the tile tries to upgrade to both the invention matrix and nlc at the same time. That is probably why it was done that way in the first place. They are two different branches.
