Major SCI-FI mod Idea

Not sure if this was mentioned before, but I thought it may be kind of cool. I am however not a modder and really am not interested in learning. I would rather just play them. Anyway, how about a mod that would incorporate most of the major SCI-FI races. One mod that would have Star Trek, Babylon 5, Star wars, stargate (both series).

This would give the ability to have many different races each with there respective techs and ships. I am sure this would be quite a job, but it would be cool to play the federation and have to try to take out the shadows. Just a thought anyway.

Any thoughts on this?

Yeah I could see that. I think that would be a fun mod but alot of work unless all the various mod groups came together for one uber project.

Unfortunately such an idea would run into the same problem as any other total conversion atm - the need for racial tech-trees - without them - you're limited to three unique races, based on their ethical alignment and nothing else...

I know Frogboy has talked about it - and hopefully it's planned for sooner rather than later - (though I suspect it's for the expansion they're planning ) - but until then - it does put rather a crimp in what can really be done as far as making unique races areconcerned... (Ok - I know you can give each race a unique tech and then spawn all the unique stuff from that - but to me, thats rather clunky ).

Well I guess the place to start would be to have all the groups that are working on mods of the variuos types to bring there work together afters they are done nd put them together. Would any ofthe groups here be willing to do something like this?

The tech tree thing can be figured out as soon as it is available if it becomes available. But for now even new graphics, ships and races would keep many people happy until the tech part could be updated.

im all for this and id be willing to work on the tech tree once the racial tech trees become availible. It would be way awsome Goauld vs Federation.

ya, It would be cool to see the shadows, fedration and asguard fighting for control of the galexy.
