IconPackager 3.10 Crashes applying/installing a new package

I'm using Windows Xp with IconPackager 3.10. and everytime i try to load a new package, or even open the icon packager, it crashes with an error saying it encountered a problem and needs to close. the only way i can even open it is by uninstalling and then reinstalling it. adn all i can do is change icons. i can't install any new ones.

Nine copies of the same thread was a wee bit much....

Icon Packager v3.0 and 3.10 will not work since I applied the April Microsoft patches. The application crashes the moment I try to open it. Those patches have screwed up Office files, drop down menus, forms in IE, my sync add-in for Earthlink in Outlook and OE and too much more to go into. Patching Windows XP Pro in April has been disastrous.

3.10b[b].002 hasn't crashed - applied package / applied icon okay

C.J.Woodfill, have you tried the latest version of IconPackager from Stardock Central to see if that causes the same problem?

All security patches applied here (including April's), with no side effects to IP 3.1 (stand-alone official release), or system:

XP Pro /SP2, IE7 Public Release 2, Office 2003 Standard, Adobe and Corel products, WB5.01 (stand-alone) and ObjectDock 1.20a (stand-alone).

Running on Notebook w/Pentium M (760 Dothan), 2 GB RAM, PCI express bus.

Uninstalled IP and reinstalled 3.10b(b).002. IP continues to crash. Event: faulting application iconpackager.exe, version 3.1.0.0, fault address 0x0047055 & Fault bucket 284533956 which is an application error per Microsoft. Strange thing I can apply packages if I use the randomicom.exe. I have to click through them until I find a package that works for me

Hi Have the same problem. Try to start up IP 3.10 (latest) and it crashes as it tries to load up. Got to be April XP updates, trying to find out which is going to be a pain, unless someone knows which one is causing the problem

All updates including optional one for HTTP authentication issues installed, running latest beta of IP 3.10, no issues. There is a thread about an IP package that is causing crash of IP https://www.wincustomize.com/Forums.aspx?ForumID=188&AID=113593#873152

How do I fix IP; it still doesn't work? I deleted the package from the directory, but IP still crashes.

I too had this problem and sent an email to SD support. They must be busy? Deleted the ADONIA IP download, folder and all instances in the registry. IP works fine now. Thanks to those who posted with the suspicion of the above package. I'll know what to do next time. I use System Restore quite a lot but not for OD installs. This will change. IconP crash

I don't know why, but after a long period, my IconP v 3.1 suddently crashes on startup with this windows message:

I have tryed to uninstall and instal the application. - No luck
I don't know when or what caused the problem!!
By "reparing" the application, the install calls for an older version (2.1b). I have probally had this file, but can't find it.

Anybody knows, what to do???

Regards
