Building upgrading

So I love the new neutrality learning centers and since the are better then discovery spheres they're the best research building. It would be nice however if research buildings could be upgraded automatically to them, as it stands now you have to manually decommission older research building and order neutrality learning centers to be built which is very time consuming especially late game.

Assumably this would need a change to the way upgrades are handled. Right now, each improvement basically has a UpgradeFromj field in the XML files that tells what improvement came before it (and thus which ones to upgrade to that when it is researched). Whereas NLCs are outside the normal research tech progression so there's no telling what you'll have when you first research them.

Isn't it possible to go from lets say xeno labs to invetion matrix and not build every upgrade inbetween? I was under the impression it was, if that's the case couldn't NLCs be denoted as the highest research building and be jumped to in the same manner?

That makes sense to me. I know that I often try to research two or three tech levels at once for some buildings. This way I have the third level researched before they are built. Certainly saves me a lot of time! It seems reasonable that this could be applied to NLCs as well. Perhaps I am missing something though. There could be a very good reason the devs designed it in this way.

I'm in beta 3, I dont see them, I am neutral, I have it researched, what must I do?? I needs them...

If you have it researched you should be able to see them. Their icon is a bright red building, can't really miss them in the list, are you sure you have Neutrality Learning Center tech researched, not just xeno ethics?

I'm going to see if setting their upgradefrom to the discovery sphere works. I sure hope so.
