Why does simply loading IconX radically change my icons

One of the things that has really driven me away from really using the Object Desktop package is the way that simply loading IconX changes my desktop icons from what I am used to seeing to the "default" that IconX chooses that I don't really like to look at.  I would like to use IconX to make small changes from my XP desktop - what I don't want to do is have to undo the large changes from what IconX thinks my "default" desktop should look like.  Is there some way to tell IconX to start with desktop icons that look liie what I have on my XP desktop so I can make my own decisions about how to change them?

Thanks

Have you tried some of the included themes/setting that comes with IconX. I think some of them are pretty close to default XP appearance.

I start with the 'default' theme which keep pretty much everything as it was prior to running IconX - those that change (html docs and such) I change, then save theme as - which is how it first loads when I run IconX
