No Interface Text

Hey,
I have just unlocked my collectors edition stuff and downloaded the bonus pack. Then I installed the 1.1 beta 3 update via stardock and now when i load up the game there is a lack of interface text. For example the buttons on the main menu are blank, when i click the options there is no text (the sliders are still there) or on the research screen the names of the technologies are not there. Any ideas on how to fix it? Thanks

Better post your err log so the forum nazis don't jump you. (Even though the err log hasn't helped fix this problem yet) I'm gonna give them till next week then politely ask for a refund. 3 weeks having the game and I still can't see the text. Not that they haven't tried and been courteous when cooresponding with me, it just seems they can't fix it.

For some reason Beta 3 requires a reboot after the install. Try that and see if it helps.

@ PSIO- this issue is with the newest beta patch. It's just an installation bug with this patch version. Doubt if yours is the same thing if you have been haviong it for weeks.

Errr... if you're having THAT much problem with it, maybe you should stick to using the 1.0x OFFICIAL version? I'm well aware that the beta 1.1 has caused this problem, but I don't recall the 1.0x ever having this. Asking for a refund because you tried a beta is just silly. Reinstall, download the 1.0x update only and wait until the official release of 1.1. Hopefully they will be able to isolate your problem.

I had a related issue (because I screwed up my English.str file while modding), but instead of not seeing any text, it says string not found...pretty much anywhere there is a text string . Grabbin' at straws here, but who knows?

These are two separate issues - the op's issue is caused because the beta3 sometimes requires a system reboot. Happened to me.

Not sure what Psio's real issue is.

Probably should try to keep the thread on topic, and let the OP respond. It may be confusing otherwise.

Please clarify how walking into a store and purchasing a game constitutes a BETA?

It didn't work before or after the patch.
