question about resources

hey guys, i've been playin the game for a while, and i have a question about resources, if the resource is out of range of all your planets, when you build a mining station on it, do you still get the bonuses?

Yes, you do. And as an added benefit, you extend the range of your ships, to boot. (At least, you extend their range in the direction of the mining starbase itself, not just further in general... All starbases, as far as I know, allow your ships to "re-supply," thus allowing them to go further away from your planets proper.)
