Borders disappeared

Where'd they go?

I just loaded up a saved game and I can't see any borders anymore. I tried starting a new game, and still don't get any borders. Did I hit a button that turned them off? Is there a button that turns them off / on? The keyboard commands in the manual don't list anything. I'm playing beta, btw.

Are you talking about seeing your influence area in the mini map? Because these can be turned on or off. It's the button that looks like a venn diagram (that's three overlaping circle's for those that don't remember their set theory). I'm not aware of any way that the influence area's get removed from the main map, though they do change to default on a load before the next ZOC (zone of control) calculation.

No, I played the stand alone game, went with custom race, and when I start the game, I do not have the influence borders on the main map and the ownership does not light up. I started the game as Arceans and I get the borders so now I am wondering if the influence borders just do not load for custom races and are patched to work after 1.0.

Only your borders, or all races' borders?

Just the custom races. One game I played halfway through had everyone's borders except mine.

I thought it might be the colors I choose for the race but I even tried with hot pink for all five colors and had pretty ships but no borders. Weird thing is that it only started this after I completed the campaign. I also reinstalled after the campaign as I patched but do not have a serial key as the game shipped with the CE key and not regular one.

Contact support@stardock.com about the serial, then you should be able to patch up.

This has happened to me too, but for an opponent race. One turn, all of their borders were gone, and a few weeks later they reappeared.

After updating to 1.4, the borders are there for my custom races. Time to play on the metaverse now
