i want to dl 1.1 beta 2 but when i try to download i press the link on https://www.galciv2.com/Downloads.aspx on retail update and it sends me to "https://www.galciv2.com/collectorsedition/"

You need to download the beta through Stardock Central.

Wait so the if you bought the retail then you wasted money because you could have downloaded the beta throguh stardock??? or am i missing something. I am so confussed with these forums. I have the hardest time trying to find answers to my quesitons. hehehe

The beta is only a beta-patch, you still need the game installed.
