1.1 Beta 2 Bug Report

Starting Games and Ship Designer

It seems if you repeatedly start and restart War of the Gods games (I was checking out each race's ship designs) the game will eventually go to a screen that looks kind of like the in-game screen, but all black with a partially blacked-out ship highlight view. You need to Quit to get out of it and if you click to end your turn it causes a crash to desktop.

Also, at one point late in a normal game, turns stopped progressing. At first my turn advance button simply vanished, so I saved and reloaded. The button came back but stopped actually doing anything.

I've noticed two problems in the ship designer. The first is another case of misaligned hardpoints, on the medium-sized Terran hull that's kind of short and tall with a tube on the top, on some of the lower points. Not on the bottom, but on the sides near the bottom and rear. I'll post a screenshot if the staff can't find what I'm talking about. Second, I have my game set to 15-degree increments with the new rotation thingie but it doesn't seem to actually increment exactly 15 degrees. I can't get a 180-degree (15x12) angle. The dial cannot point directly downward and I've confirmed that it's not just a problem with the dial itself; the model doesn't align itself at 180 degrees either.

The model does align straight down with a higher increment, so this is probably just something to do with the maths involved that needs fixing. The Terran hulls have been slightly misaligned for quite a while, there is a mod for this in the library. The fact you kept creating new maps so quickly probably caused a strain on your system, check to see if there is a memory leak. As for the save/load issue, I've had that. Just look over all your planets and ships, make sure there isn't anything that needs to be done.

I'm happy to see this got fixed in Beta 3. I feel like I've contributed!

Yeah, I know I'm almost certainly not the only one to find and note this problem but let me enjoy my small victory dammit!
