Money spent on leases

I never lease anything but for some reason the summary of the last game said I spent a large amount of cash on leases.

I mentioned before,
Should you not be able to trade for starbases.
If you are a pacifist you should not have to go to war to get rid of starbases in your sectors.

I always play good.

The few times I tried to play evil I had a large number of worlds break away from me.
I am thinking about playing the next few games evil.
Can somebody tell me why when you play evil does this break up happens even when the moral of your planets is high. In the OS/2 game the only way a planet broke away was if it had low moral.
Do happy planets still revolt when you play evil ?

Is the influence win broke I has not won by controlling the majority of the galaxy for many BETAs.

The last 2 games I've played (one on beta 4 and now one on 4A) I've played evil, and have not had any planets defect. I've tried to keep the morale high, and planted starbases next to systems I thought might be subject to alien influence. So far I can't see any difference between good and evil with respect to planets defecting.

i also normally play good, but i've tried evil a few times and had the planets defect like you did. The last time i played evil i used the propaganda in the planet details screen, amd then bought the secret pokice and re-education centers, it seemed to slow down the defections, also placing starbases in your own sectors with cuktural influences as high as they can go seems to mitigate the defections. Hope this helps

The hardest game i played was with the mercantile party, you gets lots of income but research and morale take a big dump and playing evil adds to the misery, next time i play evil i'm going for the war party

Apparently purchases count as leases as far as the summary screen goes. Did you purchase anything?
