How do I colonize a planet?

The tutorial says to have your ship selected and then right click a planet. When I right click a planet, it sets that planet to the waypoint, however the ship doesn't do anything.

The ship has to carry a colonization-module and some citizen.
Take a look on your ships when starting the game, one is the survey-ship and the other one is a colonize-ship.

Oh, and the Planet needs to have a number above 0, the 0-planets aren't colonizable.

I know it isn't the survey ship, however I will confirm about the colonize number. I tried a lot of different planets without success.

Depending on the settings you entered at the start of the game you may find yourself in a galaxy with almost no inhabitable planets, or that there is a large number of overall planets and you have just been unlucky finding a habitable location.

Also, I realise it may be a silly question, but have you let the colony actually travel to the planet you set? IE, set the waypoint/autopilot destination and then end your turn a few times to make the ship actually move. It will not colonise until it can end its movement turn on the planet square itself.

Click on the star, and it will tell you how many habitable planets in the system. If none find a new system.
