User Created Ships

When you design ships and save them in the editor should they show up when you start a new game?

Yes, but do keep in mind that your designs are dependant on technology. If you had a level of miniaturization and maxxed out your load, you'll need that miniaturization in the new game before you'll see the ship. Since I heavily customize the appearance of the ships, I always save a Hull varient of the ship e.g. Hull Horizon DD (Basically, a medium hull destroyer class named horizon, and clearly marked as a blank hull design). That way I can see the ship as soon as I research the hull size... Then I slap a few weapons and engines on it and I'm ready to go.

thats what i have started to do.. make basic designs without miniturisation and then use them as i want..
