Error upgrading DesktopX with SDC

SDC wants to upgrade DesktopX, but reports a missing or invalid code

from WinCustomize Forums
I have downloaded and installed DesktopX from a link in a post on the GalCiv2 forum. The link was to a stardock page.

Now whenever I starts SDC I get a message to upgrade DesktopX to the newest version 3.19[b].002 (the version I have is 3.10), but if I try to do that I get an errormessage, telling me that no registration information for DesktopX was found and asks me if I want to purchase a lisence. If I press yes, I get to a purchase page with no content, if I press no DesktopX is not upgraded. And I am propted to upgrade again at some point while starting or running SDC.

Trial? As I understood it is a free version. Can't find the link to the forum post that linked to DesktopX, but I seem to remember tat it was Frogboy who wrote the post.

Strange then why does it not show up under shareware in SDC?
It is listed under purchased products.
