ToonXP: How to exclude applications

Hi,

I am using ToonXP on an arcade cabinet PC and would like to exclude one single program from being modified by ToonXP. The problem is that the GUI of the program gets unreadable when used in combination with ToonXP.

I've found some hints that this is possible for StarDock, but is it possible when I've only purchased the ToonXP Desktop Theme?

Thanks,

Daniel

i know you can do it with WB in per applications - can't exclude a specific skin that I know of, but you can make it use a specific skin.

don't know about the standalones like ToonXP. do you get a tray icon with it? if so, can you right click and configure?

Hi Bichur,

& thanks for answering!

No, there's no tray icon. And I cannot find anything in the ini-files etc.

You think I need to purchase WindowBlinds to exclude single apps out of ToonXP?

Daniel

Hmm, now I'm a bit puzzled...

After browsing the forums I think that:

* I need to purchase WindowBlinds to exclude one single app from ToonXP

* I need to have Internet Access to activate WindowBlinds

The problem is that I don't have internet access on my arcade cabinet. Can I use one WindowBlinds license on two PCs?

Sounds compicated, but maybe you got hints for me

Thanks,Daniel

From the EULA:

YOU MAY:
1. Install and use one copy of the
SOFTWARE on a single computer.
2. Install a second copy of the SOFTWARE on a
second computer only if you are the main user of
this computer (home computer or laptop for
example).
3. Install the SOFTWARE on another computer only
if you change your main workstation. In such a case
you must uninstall the software from the old
computer.
4. Use the SOFTWARE via a network, only if you
have purchased an adequate number of licenses.
The number of users must not exceed the number of
licenses you have purchased.
5. Make a copy of the SOFTWARE for archival
purposes only.

I believe 1 & 2 apply to you.

If you use SDC {Link} to download the purchased WB, you can use it to archive the application. You can then install SDC on the noninternet computer and use it to restore the archive. Trouble is, I'm not sure how you would activate WB. I've seen it in the forums, just can't find it yet. I think you would need to contact support via email & they will email back instruction for activating.

Some one may come along with the answer, but I'll keep looking.

Thanks Bichur,

I'll try that, found some posts (copy some *.bin file etc.) earlier today in the forum that described how to transfer an activated copy of WB, well... let's hope it works.

Thanks again,

Daniel - who will buy the WB copy immediately

before you buy...consider any of the other apps you are thinking of buying...then add them up and compare to the full ODNT package.

yeah, I was hesitating..... and went for WindowsBlinds only!  Good enough for spicing up an arcade cabinet. Excluding skinning for one single application went smooth then (wbconfig.exe was added to the stardock directories, guess this one's necessary for excluding apps, maybe there would be a registry hack but I don't bother anymore).

Would be cool to have this option already in the ToonXP package though.

Now all I need is to transfer this stuff to the non-internet arcade cab pc. Will check that later!

Thanks again! Daniel

allright... I cannot launch online activation from the arcade cab cause it's not connected to anything (and will not be forever ). Transfering the activation from one PC to the other failed too, so I will need to activate WB by e-Mail-request, let's hope it works!
