All latest Beta: Virtual DT, time consume, transparency and more

Good day, I am now running the latest beta-complex of most of stardocks stuff - with great pleasure and on a AMD 64 x2 4200+, 2GB mem etc. (this mentioned because of the comments here):
- start-up time of win xp-pro takes really its time, this is
also true between switching VDT
- even with FX 3... and the help of all good angels, I never
succeded in making desktop-icon-text transparent -
sometimes it worked but never could be reproduced.
- all existing DT-icons (dramatically clustered) are shown
on all VTD - is this design or my poor settings ?
- how can I move a desktop-icon from one VTD to another?
- is there a recommended limit to the number of VTD
- can I run at start-up programs in dedicated VTD ?
- what progs should I run at start-up for best performance:
(e.g. ODT, WB5, WC ????)

PS: I have noticed, that the forums grow big and many queries have been answered more than once. Do you plan to assemble "hot queries" and if so I could lead a hand if needed.
