Cannot Create Metaverse Character

Have tried many times to create my first metaverse character. Have properly entered my serial number, but the screen shows "processing data" and hangs there, never going any further.

The Metaverse site is incompatible with FireFox/Mozilla and probably everything else not Internet Explorer. Oh, and it doesn't seem to use https, so your serial number traverses the net free for everyone to see.

I'm using IE and when I click to create a metaverse character, I get a parser error in the browser window. Any way to get around this?

Same problem here. Thought it was operator error, but now I know its just poor interface and coding.
