Upgrading ships bug

This started happening to me yesterday. I have the latest drivers, running the 1.0X.1 patch, and yes, I've restarted the app.

Whenever I click on the 'Upgrade Ship' button in the ship builder, it gives me the ship with every component that takes up space, i.e. everything but the hull and the 'extras' stripped off of the ship. This happens in load games or new games.

+ Fixed Ship Design Upgrade button so that it removes all but the hull and jewelry.

That's not a fix... that's breaking it. I liked it the way it was. Now when it strips every off I can't tell how much of change I want to make. Sometimes all I wanted to do is fiddle with replacing just an engine or a single type of weapon. Now with the new "fix" I have to remember everything that was on the ship and replace it.

At least make it an option. Those of us that just want to replace a part or two shouldn't have to rebuild the entire darn ship.

The devs have hinted this is tempory and an attempt to keep the least amount of folks unhappy till the next major update comes out.

... and the least amount of folks unhappy was? Oh those that whined that they didn't like the way it originally worked... silly me. Of course those of us that didn't whine because we liked it the way it was propably wern't counted. They shouldn't have swung so far in the other direction just to appease a few people who posted that they were unhappy. They should have first found a way to make both happy or leave it as it was since it wasn't broken until they could fix it properly. (sorry if I sound a little annoyed... I just hate it when someone breaks something that wasn't broke because someone was whining about it.... doh!)

Heh, I didn't even think to look in the patch notes for this because it would have never occurred to me in my wildest dreams that this was a 'fix'. What's the point of an upgrade button that forces me to remember what was on my ship and rebuild it from scratch? I'd call it more of a.... hmmm, what's the opposite of fix?... a 'break'? an 'unfix'?

I vote for putting it back the way it was and making the Upgrade button useful again...(and please, please, please fix the save / load problems - you know the one, where the first turn after you load nothing builds and the date doesn't advance - or at least acknowledge that you know about it and are working on it.)
