HELP PLEASE.Does anyone know how the game remembers your previous settings.

Hi folks:
Does anyone know the file that contains the information about options you have previously selected when changing game settings (ie. in particular video) and/or creating a NEW GAME to play(i.e. a CONFIG file)?
I'm trying to resolve two issues:
1. It would seem I picked a screen resolution that was inappropriate and as a result I can no longer see the full screen/menu options when I start my game. Making difficult to do anything.
2. While modding, I have been changing the RACECONF.XML to no great success. Every time I start a NEW GAME to play, the information/changes I selected on screen for the Terrans are remembered from my first game. It is as if the RACECONF.XML file has had no impact. In particular I've been trying to change the LOGISTICS setting for all races. I like the big battles idea.
Any help would be appreciated.

Try here: - \My Documents\My Games\GalCiv2

You will find the file 'Prefs.ini'. Open this in a text editor (ie word) & line 9 & 10 set your screen res: -

9. DisplayWidth=1024
10. DisplayHeight=768

Also delete any raceconfig files in this area too and this may stop your second issue. Not sure about that one though

If you made any changes to any of the races' settings (not just racial abilities) before you changed RaceConf.XML, you'll have to manually update (or delete) the CurrentCustomRace(0-9).raceconfig files from "My Documents\My Games\GalCiv2" before it'll take effect.

Thanks Citizen H3lmut and Governor Darth Griffin. Deleting the file worked for me.
