Locking ship designs to allow for sharing...

... so that designers can share and just not show off their creations.

I would like to see an option to lock and export ship designs, so that the creative and talented people more easily can share their builds with other players, without having them "stolen" and rights and design notes intact.

This could go for hull and extra modifications, and whatever flavor text you'd like to type in a description. Then you could export it and the design would be locked in terms of extras.

Another thing. I'd like to keep extras separated from component addons, so that you could easily reuse a destroyer look of a hull for instance, but keep the basic design look in spite of different upgrades, armaments etc.

What do you guys think? Would that mean people might share more of their great work and not just show them off on the forum, since rights to the design would still remain intact?

BTW I think I should post some other suggestions I've made in other threads regarding features in ship design I'd like to see:

- Make all hulls available for cosmetic design from the game menu. That way you wouldn't have to load a saved game to make new designs and could make a base set whenever you felt like it.

- Allow base name for nomenclature purpose, like Freighter, Scout etc. Then generic nomenclature would be added to this when design is completed in game.

- Add generic nomenclature with emphasis on hull type, stats etc.

- Have a checkbox as to wether you want to enable full custom ship library for your game. Like unchecked it wouldn't load your existing designs for the new game.

- Add individual checkboxes to the shipdesigns wether the designs should always be loaded or never loaded into a new game you play. Less hassle with obsoleting and deleting ship designs, and you wouldn't have to worry about invalidating other games played.

- Allow rotating hardpoint properties set to the current object added, so that by clicking a key you'd change the alignment when it's added to the hardpoint.

- Allow keypresses similarly in regards to resizing of object.

- Symmetry checkbox, that places an identical object of same size on other correspoding hardpoint. May be a bit hard, but would speed up and facilitate things.

Just some things on my mind...
