Help I'm Stuck

Hi,
I'm trying to create a DX object that is animated and can contain shortcut links within the animation. Is this possible to do? I am designing my first original dxtheme and this is now the only problem that I face to complete my theme! Even if this needs a Java script that would be cool except I would need someone to write that java for me as I am stupid to java.
If anyone can help me with this please email me at; speedy5662@cableone.net or you can post the info here. Thank you for taking the time to read this!

Well, you shouldnt need to script to animate something, thanks to the power of DX. Do you mean that you want different, multiple shortcuts within the object, or do you mean you just want the animation to be a shortcut?

I would like clickable links/shortcuts in the animated object the animation is already done and all I'm trying to do is get the links/shortcuts to be achieved withing a single click within the animated object rather than having to click 2x to get a seperate layer above the animated object....if this is unclear I would be happy to explain it further..I'm trying to not reveal the object designs to this board as they are original ideas..LOL. If you need more details please email me. Thanx for your help!!!

To make a shortcut execute on single click you select that from the "Start with" in the "Relations" tab in the Object properties.
Not sure what you mean by
to get a seperate layer above the animated object

ok the animation is of a scroll unrolling on mouseover and it re-rolls on mouse away.....The links/shortcuts is what I would like to put on top of the unrolled scroll...so far I have to create a "popup" layer to add the 5 or so links/shortcuts with the opened scroll image. Which means that you have to click your mouse twice instead of once to get to whatever the link/shortcut represents. I am trying to achieve a single click instead of double click since i have the "rolling" effect with the animation.

<<--------->> this is a rough "rolled" example LOL

So basically I want different, multiple shortcuts within the animated object that will appear on the final "opened" scroll image. I hope i have explained it better now..LOL

seems that if the scroll is just a layer then each shortcut could open on a single click - same as the other DX stuff that autohides or slides out

Hi,

It is a layer. The problem is that I want no shortcuts showing when the scroll is closed and cannot add any shorcut to the image(s) without them appearing( being always present) before I want them to...ergo..when the animated scroll appears on mouseover it will be closed and the animation opens it....the mouse away animates the scroll back up. The entire object(layer) is one set of frames animated. So I need to put working links in the "opened" picture( 1 Frame) of the scroll so that it can be one click instead of a "popup layer" with working shortcuts on it.

thanx,

Btw..No insult meant, but I feel like I bit off alot more than I could chew ROFLMAO....leave it to me
